Profoundly influenced by the Abstract Expressionists (such as deKooning, Klein, Guston and Diebenkorn) over many decades, Alex McKibbin, has remained a painter/draughtsman committed to their precepts in both his large abstractions and his figure drawings. His watercolor landscapes reflect the more expressionist John Singer Sargents' and very early Andrew Wyeths.
